First & Foremost, Pray.
Please pray for those who are sick and their families and caretakers, for those who are living in fear and anxiousness, for the professionals who are providing medical care, for those working on treatments and a vaccine for COVID-19, and for our leaders to act with wisdom and courage as they make vital decisions that impact each of our lives. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
In an effort to practice leadership rather than reactionship, we would like to update you regarding some changes we will implement here at Southside Baptist Church due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) concern. At this time we have no plans to cancel any of the services, but we will do so if it becomes absolutely necessary. We are keeping close tabs on the situation and we will be updating you as the situation changes.
A few other suggestions that we would encourage you to take: |

The Key To Finding Meaning In Life
The “Pew Research Center” recently published an interesting article titled, Where Americans Find Meaning in Life. They examined two surveys that had been conducted. Those surveyed were allowed to express where they find meaning in their own life. The findings were very eye-opening. Overall, only 20% of Americans say religion is the most meaningful aspect of their lives. Many Americans put family, careers, and even money in front of their faith in order to find meaning in this life. I believe this study reveals the heart of our nation today. We are a people who cannot find meaning, contentment, or satisfaction in anything because we are looking in all the wrong places to find it. As humans, we have a deep longing for satisfaction and we try to fill that longing in all kinds of ways. Such as; careers, friends, family, alcohol, drugs, relationships, sex, and the list goes on. We live in a society that says meaning and contentment can be found in temporal things. However, the problem is all temporal things fail to bring lasting satisfaction to the human soul. We have an eternal longing in our soul that cannot be filled unless it is filled by the eternal God in Jesus Christ (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The only way we can live a life of meaning, contentment, and satisfaction is by having the Holy Spirit indwell us as believers. No temporal thing can do that, only the eternal God. In Christ, we can have contentment no matter what season of life we are in, no matter what storm we are facing, and no matter what hardship we are experiencing. Through Jesus, we are not only promised contentment and meaning in eternity, but we are promised a satisfying and abundant life here on earth. Jesus says, in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. #William Baxter Boyd is the Senior Pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Princeton, KY. “Anchor of the Soul” is Pastor Boyd’s Media Ministry.
